1. Stroll hand-in-hand around Brandon Hill Park

Brandon Hill Park is one of Bristol’s best green spaces all year round, but in Autumn, it has a particular charm to it. Not only is it the oldest park in the city, but you’ll also find squirrels parading around, with stunning auburn trees surrounding. It’s very picturesque for a romantic stroll and you can head up to Cabot Tower for panoramic views of Bristol and the harbourside.
2. Enjoy a romantic cinema screening at the Everyman

3. Enjoy a delicious dinner in darkness
Nothing says romance quite like a candlelit dinner, and coming just in time for Autumn is Fever’s much-loved Dining In The Dark events. Enjoy an evening blindfolded and using your senses (mainly taste and smell) to decipher the menu. You can choose from a vegan, fish or meat menu but that’s all the clues you will get! 4. Glide around an ice rink together

The perfect excuse to hold hands with your date – every year Bristol is blessed with a number of ice rinks, all dotted around the city centre and at the Winter Wonderland at Cribbs Causeway. The rinks usually hit town early November (COVID permitting!), so keep your eyes peeled for announcements this Autumn. Otherwise for a change of a scenery and cute day trip, head to Bath On Ice.
5. Go on a cheese crawl around Bristol together
There’s nothing better than bonding over a love for cheese. Join The Bristol Cheese Crawl for two and a half hours of non-stop cheese: from swanky blue cheese and gooey grilled cheeses, to cheesy jokes and interactive cheese-themed quizzes and competitions. Another fabulous green spot – this time in north-west Bristol, Blaise Castle Estate is beautiful all year round. And while it’s extra pretty in full bloom over the summer, the Autumnal shades in October and beyond make for a lovely little walk.
7. Pick your own pumpkins and carve something special together
Getting into the Halloween spirit? There’s nothing more wholesome than picking your own pumpkin to later carve, and there are multiple pumpkin patches in the Bristol area where you can do that and feel a little grown-up while doing it. Some farms serve delicious food and drink as well as being able to stroll around the pumpkin patch and enjoy a glass of something from the bar whilst taking some seasonal snaps for the ‘gram.

9. Compete in a match of tenpin bowling
Tenpin Bowling has arrived in Bristol, and it’s the perfect place to go head-to-head with your date. Compete in a round of bowling, or have a game of table tennis or pool while knocking back a cocktail or two – before enjoying a bit of grub and a pint at the bar. 10. Stroll around St Nick’s Market

Pick up some locally made bakes, purchase some homemade art or simply browse the lovely little stalls that make up St Nicholas’ Market – which can be found at The Corn Exchange with different markets on each day, indoors and outdoors. The street food market is open on Tuesdays and Fridays, 11am- 2.30pm, and indoor market open every Monday to Saturday, 9.30am- 5pm.
11. Escape to a treehouse in the Somerset hills
A gorgeous treehouse tucked away just outside of Bristol, there’s no better local escape to hide away with your one and only. The treehouse boasts incredible views of the Mendips and a field of alpacas, and there’s even a wood burner to enjoy on Autumn evenings. The wholesome getaway is near to the village of Wrington, with Cheddar Gorge close by to explore too. You can even sample wine three miles away at Aldwick Court.
12. Cuddle up with a scary movie on Netflix
If you’re trying to find an excuse for a cheeky cuddle – here it is. Netflix has officially released its Halloween slate for 2020 – with a number of spooky films and TV shows to watch in the run up to Halloween. Freak yourself out with The Haunting of By Manor (The Haunting of Hill House’s follow-up series), delve into Unsolved Mysteries Vol. 2, or spook yourself silly with a classic such as A Nightmare on Elm Street or Child’s Play.
