It’s fair to say that Bristol, and the South West in general, has a connection with nature like nowhere else in the UK. Few have tapped into this better than Wake The Tiger, the mythical ‘amazement park’ in St Philips. Continuing its seasonal celebrations, Wake the Tiger is launching launch a week-long Golden Mushroom Hunt.
Starting on Saturday (September 9) this city-wide Golden Mushroom Hunt will set up Wake The Tiger’s autumnal celebrations in Meridia. Residents can follow daily clues to find these hand-crafted golden mushrooms in various iconic city locations. With daily (micro)doses of hints leaked through Wake the Tiger’s social media channels, the hunt will span the city from Turbo Island to the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
Those who find them first each day will win tickets to Wake The Tiger, alongside prizes from Bristol Fungarium – “the UK’s only organic certified medicinal mushrooms tinctures”. The hunt will continue for a week, before the launch of four unique fungi appearing within the world of Meridia on September 16 – each aligning with Earth, Water, Air and Fire.
These mushrooms will grow through the walls and sprout between the environments, completely altering the look of Wake The Tiger. They will continue to grow into the new year, with something exciting lined up on the horizon… In the meantime, follow daily hints for the Golden Mushroom Hunt at Wake the Tiger’s Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok or website.
