Take a hot air balloon ride over the city during the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta

There isn’t a more iconic sight of Bristol than a hot air balloon floating above Clifton Suspension Bridge. You can float up into the heavens almost any time of year (weather dependent), but the time of year is during the world-renowned Balloon Fiesta weekend in Bristol every August, which sees hundreds take to the skies.
The free hot air balloon festival has been running since the 70s, and is jam-packed with adrenaline-fuelled activities—including the iconic early morning/afternoon mass ascents and the evening’s dazzling Night Glow events. For a once-in-a-lifetime experience (and the best view of Bristol), book your own flight from several local operators taking off from the site.
