Bringing the beach to Bristol city centre.

We might not all be dusting off our passports ready for a summer holiday like pre-COVID times, but as it turns out, a flight to a land far away isn’t necessary after all. Taking inspiration from the laid-back tropical islands, Bristol Beach Bar has opened its summery setting in Millennium Square, featuring beachy vibes with sand, sun loungers and slushies for Bristolians to enjoy all summer long.

Opening this month, Bristol Beach Bar – which is from the team behind the Christmas fair in Millennium Square – promises visitors a chance to “soak up the rays on a sun lounger or feel the sand between your toes on the novelty swings” at this summer pop-up.

Usually an open public space close to planetarium We The Curious, beautiful palm leaf parasols and benches have been introduced – which guests are able to sit at with no booking required. Underneath the main beach bar structure, you’ll also find a sand pit and swings dotted around it’s perimeter, so you can enjoy the beach vibe with a little more shade.

The opening of this holiday-inspired bar will also see the introduction of Bristol Beach Bar’s cocktail selection promising tropical tastes. On the menu, guests can expect fruity and refreshing cocktails, all of which will be perfect for the warmer days that have arrived (and hopefully stay) and can be ordered directly to your spot via their app.

The cocktail menu features passionfruit martinis and espresso martinis as well as pink gin martinis available from a designated tap and chilled to perfection. There are also alcoholic and non-alcoholic slushies available as well as a selection of beer, cider, wine and soft drinks.

This latest pop-up bar aims to offer a family friendly event comprising of arts and crafts, attractions, children’s funfair rides and restaurants spread across Millennium Square. So if you want to bask in the sun without having to head to the coast, check out Bristol Beach Bar, which will be open at Millennium Square until 11pm throughout July, August and September.
