From Massive Attack and Roni Size to Idles and The Pop Group, Bristol has a history of producing incredible talent. But we’re not stuck in the past. This multi-genre showcase at Bristol Beacon, the Bristol Takeover, is proving the future of the city’s musical landscape looks equally exciting.
The Bristol Takeover is back for the first time since 2022 to shine a light on the city’s most exciting talent – including Birdman Cult, Make Friends, Thomas Ridley and more. Bursting with unmissable music from Bristol’s best bands, DJs and musicians, the day-to-night festival will be taking over three of Bristol Beacon’s stages.
The Bristol-centric showcase will feature Alamay and their soulful voice and Bethany Ley, known for her enchanting acoustic melodies. Birdman Cult will bring high-energy alt-rock, alongside the experimental compositions of Daniel Inzani. Dr Chonk & The Nature Injection will deliver a unique blend of funk and psychedelic rhythms, while Eva May brings introspective songwriting to the stage.
Expect eclectic beats from Hector Who Lived and boundary-pushing sounds from Kai Whiston. Make Friends will add their signature indie-pop, followed by the ethereal tones of My Midnight Heart. Rounding out the showcase are SAMBEE’s vibrant R&B, the powerhouse vocals of Sisanda Myataza, Afro-Brazilian beats from Soma Soma, and the emotionally rich performances of Thomas Ridley.
Did we mention that it’s completely free too? The Bristol Takeover will take place on Saturday, November 2. With performances in Bristol Beacon’s Bridgehouse, Lantern Hall and the newest space, The Weston Stage in the Cellars, providing a diverse and atmospheric experience. Further acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
Bristol Takeover is made possible by the support of the PRS Foundation Talent Development Network and is core to BristolBristol Beacon’s commitment to nurturing talent. You can now register your interest to receive the latest updates and event information by heading here.
