It’s that time of year to download Duolingo again, but which language will you fail to learn before your holiday this time? Wie geht es dir? Come stai? Pós eísai? Well, if you’re anything like us, that’s entirely dependent on what we can afford and, especially this year, we’ve been looking for the cheapest place to fly from Bristol this summer.
Parlez-vous français? Pack your bags because we’re off to France. Beziers, specifically, with a one-way flight to this south of France city going for as low as £12. You’ll have to fly on Thursday, June 13 to get this price, but a number more flights only cost £14 later in the month.
Just along the coast from Montpellier (not Montpelier if you’re worried you haven’t left Bristol), Beziers is one of France’s oldest cities. Béziers’ old town is full of historical monuments – including the colossal Canal du Midi, the towering Saint Nazaire Cathedral and the gorgeous Évêques Garden.
It’s a quieter pace of life in Beziers, which also makes it less of a tourist trap compared to the French Riviera. There aren’t exactly lots of must-do-things in this small French city. It’s a place to simply be – unwind with good food, weather and wine. Beziers does get a lot busier in August, however, thanks to the Feria de Béziers – which attracts millions for bullfighting, flamenco dancing, parades and more.
If you fancy a little more hustle and bustle than Beziers this June, you could alternatively fly to Marseille from £14 on Friday, June 14 – which might be the oldest city in France, but is renowned for its melting pot of modern cultures. Elsewhere in France, get to Limoges for £13 (Monday, June 10) and Bergerac for £14 (Sunday, June 30). C’est incroyable!
