For over a thousand years, fireworks have been humanity’s go-to for spectacular celebrations. But it’s time to make way for the future, as epic drone light shows become the norm at Christmas. Celestial, the team behind last year’s Evolution show in Bristol, are back with a magical, festive show suitable for all ages.
This new, much longer show reimagines the classic tale of ‘A Christmas Carol’. Performed by hundreds of animated drones and narrated in the unique style of Matt Lucas, it will take audiences on a heart-warming journey with miserly Ebenezer Scrooge on Christmas Eve – incl. Tiny Tim, the ghost of Christmas past, present and, well, you know the story…
Taking place at the Seat Unique Stadium (Gloucestershire County Cricket Club) in Bristol, ‘A Christmas Carol’ will fly into the skies on December 19 – 21. The 45-minute show, happening twice a day, will also feature a DJ, plus food and drink outlets serving a variety of refreshments.
Matt Lucas comments: “I am thrilled to be narrating this new and exciting take on a Christmas classic. Using drones to tell a traditional story is brilliantly inventive and a glimpse into the future of entertainment. It’s a magical way to bring friends and family together during the festive season, and I’m sure it will delight everybody.”
Fusing cutting-edge technology and creativity, Celestial is the world’s first entertainment studio to use drone technology to tell epic stories in the sky. Tickets to see this drone light show, ‘A Christmas Carol’, in Bristol are £24 per adult and £17 for children and concessions. Hospitality ticket options are also available.
John Hopkins, Celestial’s Founder & CEO, comments: “A Christmas Carol is a beloved tale that has been retold across various genres. This time, it is uniquely presented through drone art, elevating it beyond a traditional drone light show to an epic, stadium-scale experience. This innovative artistic medium brings audiences together through a shared sense of wonder to celebrate a universal story of human transformation.”
