Every year, around this time of year, thousands flock to this garden centre in the unassuming village of Whitchurch. That’s when it becomes home to an incredible Christmas display not found elsewhere in the country. Some say that Whitehall Garden Centre’s Christmas shop in Bristol is one of the biggest in the UK, but we can only assert that it’s among the best.
Whitehall Garden Centre never fails to get us in the festive spirit, selling an array of Christmas products in its seasonal shop. Meanwhile, its sister site in Wiltshire’s Lackock also has a dedicated Christmas shop, if you’re looking for a festive getaway. And the best part? They’re both already open! Yes, even before Halloween…
Only a 20-minute drive from Bristol city centre, it’s selling everything from artificial Christmas trees to novelty snowmen ornaments and Lemax decorative villages. You could hop in your car now, load up on seasonal knick-knacks, and have your house completely decorated before bedtime. What are you waiting for!?
Boasting a huge collection, all products are also available for browsing online, but the shop itself is a treat for the eyes too. With floor-to-ceiling decorations everywhere, you’ll find glittery lights, beautiful baubles and polar bears snuggled up in snow. The team had been metitcuslousy working away like elves on the Christmas shop since summer, which has actually been open since September 28.
Like last year, it doesn’t look like any special festive events happening in Whitchurch, but Whitehall Garden Centre in Lacock does – where you’ll find visits from Santa, alongside wreathmaking workshops and ladies shopping nights. Both are worth visiting, however, as each Christmas shop display will be markedly different.
Whitehall Garden Centre in Whitchurch is open Monday to Saturday, 9:00am – 17:00pm, and Sunday, 10:00am – 16:30pm up until the Big Day – and will only shut for Christmas and Boxing Day. To see what’s on sale at Whitehall Garden Centre’s Christmas shop head here.
