What else are bank holidays for other than chilling out in the sunshine with a few beers and tunes? And there’s no better way to spend this weekend (May 3 & 4) than at some of Bristol’s very best independent breweries? Six of the city’s most highly respected breweries will open their doors for the East Bristol Brewery Trail.
Having started in 2016, the trail this year invites you too visit Arbor Ales, Good Chemistry Brewing, Wiper & True, Left Handed Giant, Moor Beer and Little Martha Brewing. All the breweries are within walking distance of each other—you’ll find them around the start of the Bristol and Bath Railway Path, near Lawrence Hill and a ten-minute walk from Temple Meads—and will open from midday both days.
The East Bristol Brewery Trail is best tackled starting from Arbor Ales on Easton Road and snaking over to Little Martha on Oxford Street, but you can tackle it whichever way you want. On route, you’ll not only be invited to taste a delectable sampling of beers from each brewery, but also poke your head around with brewery tours and chat with these local brewers. Plus, there’ll be street food, DJs and live music too.
If you can’t make it down this bank holiday weekend, however, there’s no need to fret—the East Bristol Brewery Trail will return on the August bank holiday weekend (August 23 & 24). You’ll also be pleased to hear that many of the breweries’ taprooms remain open during the summer months. But it’s also one of only a handful of times Good Chemistry Taproom will open.
