While the England women’s football team is making the nation proud out in Australia currently. We’re starting to already think about more glory at the Women’s Six Nations next Spring. Especially as Ashton Gate – home of the Bristol City football club and the Bristol Bears rugby union team – has been announced as one of the Red Roses’ home stadiums.
We’re pretty confident that the England women’s rugby team will sweep to glory too. The Red Roses have won the tournament every year since 2019, and have one the title a record 19 times. No one else even comes close. We should be seeing a few local players too, with Bristol Bears’ Amber Reed, Sarah Bern and Delaney Burns in the current squad.
England will host Wales at Ashton Gate on March 20, 2024, as it aims to defend its title. The other home game will see the Red Roses v Ireland at Twickenham Stadium in London on April 20. Games against Italy (March 24), Scotland (April 13) and France (April 27) will be played away, with stadiums yet to be announced.
But our eyes are on Bristol for now. Seeing as the city is so close to Wales, both culturally and geographically, this could be a tense game on almost neutral territory. We expect to see plenty of English and Welsh fans to be turning at the stadium. But it’s likely to be another Red Roses win, as Wales were thrashed 3–59 by England at last year’s tournament at the Cardiff Arms Park.
Tickets for England vs Wales at the Women’s Six Nations start at £15 for adults and £5 for children and are on sale now here.
