We’ve become so used to seeing Gordon Ramsay on our TV screens over the years – laying into a trained kitchen chef, or comforting the efforts of the children on his shows – that it’s hard to believe he’s never had a show on Netflix.
But that’s all about to change, with a new docuseries Being Gordon Ramsay set to follow the passionate Michelin-starred chef along his journey towards opening five culinary experiences in 22 Bishopsgate. There is no date set for the series docuseries just yet, but it’s slated to release next year – with Ramsay’s venture at 22 Bishopsgate (London’s second-tallest building!) due to begin in February next year.
Taking to their socials this morning (August 21), Netflix UK said: “Netflix is in production on a docuseries about multi-Michelin starred chef, Gordon Ramsay. The series will follow Gordon in the lead up to his biggest restaurant venture to date: the opening of 5 culinary experiences in London’s 22 Bishopsgate.
“Watch, or be an idiot sandwich.”
As confirmed by Netflix, the camera crew have been given access to speak to Gordon Ramsay’s family, including his wife Tana, to give insights into his balance between his life at home and the project at 22 Bishopsgate.
The filming takes place over a nine month period, and is being produced by Studio Ramsay Global, directed by Dionne Bromfield; with Jess Holder as production executive and Amanda Westwood, Deborah Sargeant, and Lisa Edwards named as executive producers.
It was officially announced at the Edinburgh TV Festival today, and while we only have minimal detail to go on so far, it’s likely to be a captivating watch as is ever the case with Gordon Ramsay’s fiery shows.
‘Being Gordon Ramsay’ is slated to hit Netflix in 2025. Keep an eye out for an official release date and more information on the upcoming docuseries.
