Record high rents and a lack of genuinely affordable social homes means millions of people are struggling to cope with rising living costs. That’s why HSBC UK and Shelter are working together to increase support for people across the country, to build financial resilience and help break the vicious circle of homelessness.
In the partnership’s first year alone, over 42,000 people have been supported by HSBC UK-funded initiatives. Now, there’s an opportunity for you to get involved through a very special concert series – all aimed at raising vital funds for Shelter.
This October, in the lead up to World Homeless Day, HSBC UK will be hosting six enchanting Candlelight Concerts at some of the UK’s most iconic venues. From the Natural History Museum in London to Glasgow’s Òran Mór, ticket holders will have the chance to listen to the work of Hans Zimmer bathed in candlelight, in the knowledge that the funds raised from ticket sales will be donated to Shelter, Shelter Scotland, and Shelter Cymru.

World Homeless Day falls on October 10 and aims to raise awareness of the needs of people facing homelessness. As Polly Neate, CEO at Shelter points out, “With more than 150,000 children homeless in England, Shelter’s work to fight the housing emergency and offer advice and support to people struggling with their housing situation is more critical than ever.”
Commenting on these unique collaborative concerts, Neate said: “We are so grateful to HSBC UK for hosting these Candlelight Concerts and for everyone who buys a ticket – every one sold helps Shelter to be there for people who don’t have a safe place to call home.”
HSBC UK will donate the total equivalent value of all ticket proceeds from the event in England to Shelter, in Scotland to Shelter Scotland, and in Wales to Shelter Cymru.
