Picture this: It’s a Friday night. You and your mates have spent the evening drinking, but the pub is closing. What? It’s only 11pm! That’s way too early to go to bed. Bristol is hardly London (which is hardly Berlin), but surely something is open past midnight in the city. You wander around for a bit, but eventually, you call it a night, defeated. Where are all the late-night bars and pubs in Bristol open until at least 2am?
Let this handy map be your guide. Although not an exhaustive list, it should give you enough information to keep the drinks flowing and the party going. For a few more hours anyway. Divided into pubs, bars and music venues that stay open until 2am on a Friday and Saturday night, it should sort you out for whatever your mood.
On it, you’ll see a bunch of pubs, like Kongs and The Beer Emporium, which both stay open until 2am on weekends. Most of the pubs on King Street stay open until 1am, but these two offer a helpful drinking hole for those seeing ‘One more?’ Other brilliant pubs on the map include Easton’s eclectic The Plough, famed for its music nights, and the lively Irish pub, Seamus O’Donnells, in the city centre.
Some other late-night pubs in Bristol, including multifaceted venue The Full Moon (and one of the best pubs in Bristol), infamous The Criterion – which stays open until 5am on weekends, although we’re not sure you’ll find us there at the time – and the very trendy Crofters Rights on Stokes Croft.
It’s not all about pubs either. A small number of music venues feature like Thekla, Strange Brew, Mr Wolfs and Exchange. But the main bulk of late-night establishments on the map consists of bars, with a wide breadth of vibes featuring. Stretching from the Bristol institution Cosies – an intimate wine bar, known for its reggae nights and open until 3am – to the party bar, The Cocktail Club.
Fancy a light night speakeasy-style cocktail bar? Bristol has you sorted. As the map shows, there a number of places like this open late. There’s Hyde & Co by the Clifton Triangle and The Milk Thistle in the City Centre. If you really want your late-night drinking to stretch on and on, look no further than The Woods on Park Street. This whiskey bar stays open until 6am on Saturday! Late enough to walk home to sunrise.
Bristol is far from a 24/7 party city. (Well, unless you’re hosting the afters.) But that doesn’t mean the night has to end at midnight, or even 1am for that matter. There are plenty of late-night bars and pubs in Bristol, open until at least 2am on a weekend, for whatever mood you’re in. Check out this map of the best late-night pubs and bars in Bristol here.
