England’s campaign to win the UEFA Women’s Nations League kicks off next month, with all six games for Group A3 now confirmed. The Lionesses will first head to Portugal on February 21, followed by two home games against Spain and Belgium – with the latter being played in Bristol.
It’s been less than two years since England lost the Women’s World Cup 1–0 to Spain in 2023. The Lionesses will face off against the champions this time at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday, February 26 at 8PM, before welcoming the Belgians to Bristol at Ashton Gate on Friday, April 4 at 8PM.
The venue holds happy memories for Sarina Wiegman’s team, as they were 6-1 winners against the Red Flames here in February 2023. The return fixture will take place at Den Dreef Stadium in Leuven three days later (April 8), while England’s final home game against Portugal will also take place at Wembley Stadium (May 30).
Sarina Wiegman said: “Wembley Stadium has become a special home for the Lionesses. To play our final home game of the Nations League here whilst both the team and the fans are gearing up for the EUROs this summer makes it even more exciting. The support is always fantastic in our ‘home’, and I hope we can count on the support of our fans again and finish in style.
“We’re also looking forward to returning to Bristol. Taking the team across the country is always important to us and we had a great experience the last time we played there. We have seen how the people in Bristol have celebrated women’s sports recently so I hope we will get a similar warm welcome again”.
