If you need a welcome sign that summer is coming, the first major names are confirmed for Love Saves The Day. Bristol’s legendary festival returns to Ashton Court on the May Bank Holiday weekend to kick off the festival season with standout live acts, next-gen DJs and the UK’s most exciting names in electronic music.
“We’ve always built Love Saves The Day around community, good music and starting the summer in the right way, and this year’s no different,” said Tom Paine, Festival Director at Love Saves The Day. “There’s a lot in this first wave we’re proud of: a mix of returning favourites, long-overdue bookings and artists who’ve been on fire over the past year. We can’t wait.”
Among the headline names is Sammy Virji, who will deliver a high-energy, genre-hopping set, and the recently reunited (with their signature bounce and charisma) Rizzle Kicks will both perform on Sunday night (May 24). Meanwhile, Saturday (May 23) sees Sub Focus return to the LSTD stage with an all-new audiovisual live experience.
Who else is performing at Lover Saves The Day?
Eve, one of the most influential women in hip-hop, who rose to prominence in the late 90s and early 00s, promises razor-sharp lyrics, legendary tracks and main stage presence. While Katy B, soundtrack to a generation of UK club nights, is bringing low-end pressure, big hooks and hands-in-the-air from the start.
Also confirmed: a no-holds-barred DJ set from Confidence Man; the barrier-smashing DJ collective, now firm Love Saves favourites, Girls Don’t Sync; Hamdi will be fusing dubstep, garage and grime; and the boundary-pushing duo Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn, mixing raw, reflective lyricism with UKG-leaning production.
The underground dance scene is well represented, too. House and techno heads are covered by the likes of Max Dean, Enzo Siragusa, Reeshy and Laidlaw, while 4AM Kru deliver a full live jungle set packed with new-school energy. Basslayerz return with heavyweight D&B, and Born on Road, Dubkasm, DJ Die, Clipz, Dazee, and Gorgon Sound all represent the best of Bristol’s bass heritage.
