Known for vibrant dungarees and other joyful clothing, Lucy & Yak will open a brand new shop in Bristol on October 1. The announcement follows the hugely successful and popular pop-up shop the ‘conscious clothing brand’ hosted in Bristol earlier this year.
But now it looks ready to make a permanent move with a brick-and-mortar store in Stokes Croft. Surrounded by iconic businesses and vibrant eclectic street art, the area is known for its fierce independent spirit and artistic cultivation. Somewhere we’re sure Lucy & Yak will feel at home.
News of the opening comes right before Lucy & Yak’s involvement with the UK’s first and only Sustainable Fashion Week taking place in Bristol, September 16 to 25. Sustainability plays a large role in the clothing brand’s ethos. It was created by Lucy Greenwood & Chris Renwick in 2017 with the purpose of upholding a positive environmental and social impact.
To celebrate the launch, Lucy & Yak will host a comedy show to the public on the opening night. The comedic talents of Abi Clarke, who also hosted a sell-out show at the Bristol pop-up, and Huge Davies will be among those making appearances.
“We are so excited to be coming to Bristol permanently, following a great pop-up earlier this year. The city is such a cultural and creative place and one we can’t wait to be a part of!” said Lucy Greenwood. “It also allows us to reach even more of our amazing community, which is something we plan to do more of this year and next – keep your eyes peeled!”
The Bristol shop will become Lucy & Yak’s second UK shop, following the success of their Brighton location. But there are bigger plans to expand further in the future. The clothing brand has plans to open more locations in the UK soon too. The hope being that each shop can become a Re:Yak Hub; a space for customers to recycle, repair or upcycle their clothes.
