Following the major success of Luxmuralis: Space Voyager at Bristol Cathedral last year, the organisers have announced that a brand new light and sound show is on its way.
Set to take place within the stunning Bristol Cathedral once again, Luxmuralis: Force of Nature will bring an epic new experience to the city, combining show-stopping visuals with immersive soundscapes that guests can enjoy while walking through the historic arches of the cathedral.
This year’s theme will be based on ‘creation and the cultural significance of the four elements’, and will comprise four sections dedicated to each element. Fire, Air, Earth and Water’s relationship with religion, mythology and art history will be explored as the show goes on, immersing guests in blazing fire, calming skies, storms, and the evolution of the planet we call home: Earth.
Displays will be made up of fine art created by the Luxmuralis collective with the Cathedral’s incredible architecture in mind, resulting in a unique experience that can’t be found anywhere else.
In addition to the stunning light and sound show, guests will have access to the Cathedral’s own bar, serving nature-inspired drinks (very on theme!) created with the Cathedral’s own bespoke gin, Chapterhouse.
Frances Rosewell, Visitor Experience Director at Bristol Cathedral, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with the Luxmuralis team once again, to bring another spectacle to the Cathedral.
“The installation will entirely transform the space, and will use every available inch of our home to create what will inevitably be a show-stopping experience for many. We hope that this installation will leave people feeling inspired, in touch with the world around them and inclined to revisit the Cathedral for more exciting projects in the future.”
Lead artist and artistic director, Peter Walker, said: “We wanted to create a show that explores the elements in a way that has not been done before. Our talented team of artists has curated an installation that is truly unique, which will bring something new and very special to the iconic historical space of Bristol Cathedral.”
The event, Luxmuralis: Force of Nature, will take place for just a few days at Bristol Cathedral, between October 30th and November 4th, and tickets go on sale August 31st.
