Officially, I won’t ever recommend leaving Bristol this summer. It’s The Greatest City on Earth™ and, with so much to see and do, there’s no real good reason to visit anywhere else. But, realistically, we know you’ll want a summer holiday. That’s why we’re excited to share these brand-new destinations and flights leaving Bristol Airport in 2025.
Zurich, Switzerland
From June 2, you can fly twice weekly (Monday and Friday) with Edelweiss to the largest city in Switzerland, Zurich. Steeped in history yet young and alive, Zurich should have enough to entice anyone. Take a dip in the serene Lake Zurich or wander the beautiful Old Town (Altstadt) for cafés, restaurants and shops. And don’t forget a shopping spree along the Bahnhofstrasse – full of independent boutiques, high street fashion stores, jewellery specialists, and more.
Toulouse, France
Flying twice weekly (Tuesday and Saturday) with Ryanair from May 3, Toulouse (also known as La Ville Rose) is more than just its sausages. Enjoy a night out at a lively bar in Place Saint-Pierre, sample the local cuisine from the Victor Hugo Market, or take a scenic stroll around Garonne River. Aviation fanatics should also check out the Airbus factory to rival Bristol’s Aerospace.
Almeria, Spain
From June 24, fly twice a week (Tuesday and Saturday) with easyJet to Spain’s southeastern coast. Almeria, the capital of Andalusia, is situated between many mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. Full of laidback tapas bars, a Moorish medieval fortress, and its very own natural park, Cabo de Gata-Níjar – home to secluded beaches and scenic trails – it’s very much an underrated warm climate getaway.
Palermo, Sicily
Among the new Bristol Airport destinations, flights will soon be heading to Palermo twice a week (Thursday and Sunday) with easyJet from June 26 onwards. The Sicilian capital has it all: history, culture, food. Check out the bustling markets for street food, and the incredible architecture of places like Cattedrale di Palermo or the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Arab-Norman Palermo. Don’t forget about the No Mafia Memorial for Sicily’s infamous history before lounging on Mondello Beach.
Kalamata, Greece
You can fly once a week (Wednesday) with Jet2holidays from May 7. Renowned for its juicy olives (which is a good enough reason to fly on its own), Kalamata offers an authentic slice of Peloponnese life as you wander down its cobbled streets looking for old churches, lively bars and artisanal shops. Then there’s the ancient city of Messini (built in 371 BC to protect the locals from the Spartans) and the four kilometres of golden sand surrounding Kalamata itself.
Leros Island, Greece
You can book a package holiday to Leros Island from Bristol Airport three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) with Jet2holidays from May 1. Just a hop away from Kos (ferry and shuttle transfers included), part of the Dodecanese Islands, Leros offers azure waters, sandy shores and, you know, proper holiday vibes.
