Just when you thought the ultimate festive dish didn’t exist, Pigsty – the team behind the infamous hangover cure that is their breakfast stack – has created genius new dishes, combining our biggest seasonal faves in one special menu.
One dish on their Christmas menu that we particularly have our eyes on this year is their whole baked Camembert. The sharing dish (although we doubt we’ll be sharing) consists of Camembert with Jolly Hog Pigs in Blankets in a honey mustard glaze and truffle toasted sourdough. All that dreaming about those little porky delights dipped in that gooey cheese goodness, means we Camembert it anymore!
Fans of their famous baps and burgers can devour this Christmas feast in their own homes this festive season – with the Wapping Wharf restaurant offering takeaway all-year-round via Deliveroo, Foodstuff and Uber Eats. And the beauty of dining at home is that you can put your feet up and indulge, plus things could get messy eating this cheesy, decadent and festive dish.
The new Camembert dish with pigs in blankets joins wonderfully Christmassy meals such as the Big Island Bun- a toasted milk bun filled with slow-roast pulled The Jolly Hog black treacle gammon, spiced pineapple sauce, mustard mayo and iceberg lettuce. There is also the Hog Father – slow roasted pork belly, crackling, stuffing, cranberry sauce and black treacle baconnaise in a toasted milk bun, as well as the Little Figgy featuring a proper porky patty, streaky bacon, fig cheese, Emmental cheese, iceburg lettuce and mayo.
Pigsty also serves delicious sides like halloumi fries with spiced cranberry dip, as well as boxes of those meaty morsels that are their pigs in blankets in a honey mustard glaze in quantities of six, 12, 18 and 24. Plus, just for the festive season Pigsty has released a Yule Board to share consisting of slow cooked pork belly, crackling, spiced cranberry sauce, baked camembert, pigs in blankets, Scotch egg, black treacle gammon, winter slaw and house fries. No, you’re drooling!
Bristolians will also be able to get their hands on Pigsty’s original breakfast stack, which is filled with a Jolly Hog Proper Porker patty, black treacle bacon, black pudding, fried egg, hash brown and baconnaise in a milk bun.
The team at Pigsty are forever coming up with new and intriguing wraps and burgers, with one of their more recent creations being their veggie burger, Christmas on Halti, consisting of a Moving Mountains patty, sage and onion stuffing, Emmental cheese and cranberry sauce. So keep your eyes peeled for more creations like this one and their festive menu.
