Nothing says Christmas quite like lacing up your boots and heading onto the ice for a spot of skating with friends and family. Better yet, this year Bristolians can experience the ultimate festive feels by not only enjoying a top notch roast, presents and great company on Christmas Day but also being able to hit the ice too.
Christmas Day ice skating sessions were a regular thing in Bristol back in the day at the old ice skating rink on Frogmore Street, which saw queues of people keen to have a holly, jolly (and somewhat chilly) Christmas on the ice. Bristol Ice Rink closed its doors in 2012 after 46 years of being open meaning the return of Christmas Day skating has been a long time coming.
This year, newly-opened Bristol ice rink at Cribbs Causeway, Planet Ice, has opened bookings for Christmas Day skating sessions and some may even go as far to describing it as a Christmas miracle. The attraction, which opened in November, offers international standard skating facilities designed to accommodate a range of ice related activities and sports, such as ice skating lessons and ice hockey.
Christmas Day ice skating sessions at Planet Ice Bristol will take place between 10am and 12noon, however places are limited, with around 35o spaces available. Tickets cost £12.20 for adults and children aged between four and 15. Entry for children aged under four costs £3 and there are also family tickets available, costing around £9 per person. There are also discounts if you have an Ice Card.
So go on, get your skates on as these tickets are likely to sell out. You can book your Christmas Day ice skating tickets at Planet Ice Bristol here.
