Sure, bacon might not conjure the same excitement it once did – the memes did get a little tiresome after a while. But one thing we’ll never get bored of is the taste. So of course we’re excited about a new pop-up bacon bar coming to Bristol this March.
The Jolly Hog, purveyors of pork and the team behind the Bristol eatery Pigsty, are launching a first-of-its-kind pop-up at Wapping Wharf on March 17 to 19. Expect some of the craziest bacon recipes you’ve ever seen that prove adding bacon makes every dish better.
“Consider us the Willy Wonka of bacon and step into our world of bacon imagination,” said The Jolly Hog. “Proving that bacon isn’t just for your brekkies and sarnies, we’re showing how bacon can make pretty much any dish better, and showing you how to cook with bacon in unexpected and elevated ways!”
The pop-up bacon bar will be open Friday 5pm to 9pm; Saturday 10am to 12pm for breakfast, 12 to 3pm and 4 to 9pm; and Sunday 10am to 12pm for breakfast and 12-3pm. Of course they’ll be classic bacon sarnies. But believe us you’ll want to push the boat out! They’ve got delicious dishes like Hasselback Potatoes with Blue Cheese and Bacon, Maple and Black Treacle Bacon, and Mexican style street corn rolled in bacon dust.
But that’s not all because bacon isn’t just for breakfast and brunch. It’s for every item on the menu! There’ll be bacon-themed drinks like Black Treacle Bacon Milkshake and bacon desserts such as A Streaky Bacon Ice Cream Cone and a Bacon Cheesecake.
