Oompah! Our favourite holiday of the year is almost upon us. No, not Halloween, nor Christmas. But Oktoberfest! So dust off your lederhosen, top up on the best Bavarian beer from ALDI and start blasting all the greatest German folk music hits. Did someone say: Wo sind die Hände?
Luckily for us, a weekend of oomph-pah-pah and all things Oktoberfest is coming to Bristol at the Propyard. Following the successful craft beer event Hopyard earlier in the Spring, the event returns this October 21 and 22. This time, however, with a Bavaraian twist in the form of Hoptoberfest!
Serving up steins of craft beers from some of Bristol’s finest breweries, and beyond, the two-day event will be jam-packed with entertainment. All with a side of bratwurst. The all-you-can-drink ticket will give you unlimited pours and allow you to sample the breadth of the city’s craft beer scene. The likes of Moor Beer, Wiper & True, Left Handed Giant and Bristol Beer Factory are expected to return. While there will also be wines, spirits and soft-drinks to purchase over the weekend.
Former Fun Lovin’ Criminals frontman, Huey Morgan, will be bringing the tunes and DJing on Friday night. Bristol icon and selector Angel Mel will join him, as well as the seven piece brass band King Brasstards. The brass band will return on Saturday to play more oompah classics, with electro DJ, Madame Electrifie, also joining.
When it comes to the food the German themes continue with bratwursts and pretzels available at the Bavarian party. But if that’s not too your tastes, Palestinian-inspired kitchen, Jafra and one of our favourite Bristol pizza spots, Pizzarova, will also be helping keep the stomachs lined.
Tickets are now available to purchase for Hoptoberfest for £35 easy day. To find out more about Hoptoberfest head here.
