Oompah! It’s time to dust off your lederhosen, top up on the best Bavarian beer from ALDI and start blasting all the greatest German folk music hits. Did someone say: Wo sind die Hände? Because while Oktoberfest is technically over, the celebrations are continuing in Bristol with the return of Hoptoberfest!
With a weekend of oomph-pah-pah and all things Oktoberfest returning to Propyard on November 10 & 11, prepare for the merging of Bristolian and Bavarian culture. Serving up steins of craft beers from some of Bristol’s finest breweries, and beyond, the two-day event will be jam-packed with entertainment. All with a side of bratwurst!
Pumping up the party vibes, MBE Norman Jay will be bringing the (Mister) Good Times on Friday night, while the frontman of Bristol’s iconic IDLES, Joe Talbot, will be taking the decks on Saturday. Also expect delicious draughts from Arbor Ales, Left Handed Giant, Wiper & True, Lost and Grounded, Fierce & Noble, Brick Brewery, JUBEL, Hackney Church, Bristol Cider Company, Ciderbox, Electric Bear, Beyond Belief Brewing, Kicking Goat Cider and By The Numbers Brewing.
There are three sessions in total, with visitors able to either attend Friday’s night session from 6pm – 11pm, Saturday’s day session from 12pm – 5pm, and Saturday’s night session from 6pm – 11pm. Or, if you really want, all three sessions! Tickets are on sale now for £35, which will give you access to all-you-can-drink beer and cider served in Bavarian steins. For anyone who isn’t a fan of beer (if that’s even a thing?) cider, wines, spirits and soft drinks will also be available over the weekend.
When it comes to the food the German themes continue with bratwurst and schnitzel available at the Bavarian party. But if German food isn’t to your fancy, there will be plenty more options available. With a full brewery line-up yet to be announced as well as food traders and music, this is only a taste of what Bristol’s ultimate beer party has on offer.
