Home to techno parties, roller discos, and football screenings, Propyard was a lot of fun, until suddenly it wasn’t… Opening in 2021, things turned sour this Christmas with events cancelled and staff unpaid before the venue eventually shut down. But there’s still a lot of prospect in the former torpedo testing site on Feeder Road.
A London-based electronic music promoter, AMAAD, has stepped in and saved the venue. Re-named Prospect, the 25,000sqft warehouse will reopen as “a new culture space curated in collaboration with Bristol’s best-loved creative collectives.” And there are already a few events lined up as early as this June.
We’d wondered how the 4TheFans could show all of England’s Euro 2024 games at the defunct venue – now we know. Catch England play Serbia (June 16), Denmark (June 20) and Slovenia (June 25) with large screens, food vendors, bars, and atmosphere at Prospect.
On July 20, the legendary DJ, Honey Dijon will captivate ravers with a blend of house, techno, disco and more. She’s known for “creating total dance-floor chaos wherever she plays – from Berghain to Amnesia or Printworks” and soon Prospect. A little later in the year (October 13), Second Life Markets will host local sellers of pre-loved fashion.
We expect the diary to fill quickly, as the new owners promote Prospect’s “bold industrial aesthetic and a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces”. You’ll soon find a diverse programme of music, arts and culture on Feeder Road. The new venue has also teased its inaugural music season, Prospect Music 001, with a full line-up being announced soon.
AMAAD are known for their involvement in dance music events like Elrow Town London, Junction 2 and Tobacco Dock Virtual. They’re looking to work closely with Bristol promoters (like Team Love and The Blast) to highlight the best of Bristol at Prospect. To learn more about the venue head to the website here.
