Glitz and glamour: two words we don’t often associate with Bristol. But that doesn’t mean Bristolians don’t dream of living out their lives like The Great Gatsby. Arriving harbourside this Spring, a brand new cocktail bar – Rick’s at The Bristol – is giving us the chance to do exactly that.
Rick’s name is a nod to the bar from cinema classic Casablanca, Rick’s Café Americain. Serving classic and curated cocktails, alongside high-class snacks like locally-sourced oysters, on the water’s edge, Rick’s evokes all the same style and romance of Hollywood’s Golden Age.
Opening February 23, this chic cocktail bar is the latest addition to the riverside hotel, The Bristol. Thanks to its waterside location, the terrace will be ideal for cooling down with a glass of wine in the summer. While the indoor fireplace will keep customers cosy during the winter. No matter the weather, Rick’s aim is to provide an opulent experience for after-work drinks or evening cocktails.
“Bringing a brand new cocktail bar to the Bristol harbourside has been a real dream for the team here at The Bristol, and we’re all thrilled to see Rick’s come to life,” said Adam Flint, General Manager of The Bristol.
“We want to transport our guests to a relaxed and exotic spot for a date or a catch-up with friends where they can indulge in a little luxury with an after-work cocktail or a perfect night out. Our expert mixologists have created a selection of cocktails which will be sure to delight – and we can’t wait to welcome the Bristol community and visitors alike to Rick’s to raise a glass to celebrate the good times ahead!”
Highlights of Rick’s signature cocktails include Some Enchanted Evening. A spicy and fresh twist on a classic Whiskey Sour, it features Chivas Regal 12-Year-Old Whisky, apricot liqueur, lemon, star anise and Sichuan pepper. As Time Goes By also tops the menu – made with Volcán de mi Tierra Tequila Blanco, Talisker 10-Year-Old whisky, dry vermouth and banana.
Complementing these curated cocktails is a selection of refined bar bites. Expect locally-sourced oysters, marinated olives, padrón peppers and more. Classic cocktails will also be served, along with local beers and organic, vegan-friendly wines.
