1. The Jolly Hog
Some of you might’ve seen them first touring the country at events in their food van or serving up irresistible burgers and hotdogs at Bristol Stadium. But it turns out lots of you love to order The Jolly Hog on Deliveroo. Specifically, The Whole Hog 12 hour roast pork belly burger with crackling, apple and cider sauce, slaw and black treacle baconnaise.
2. Pizza Workshop (Best Pizza in South England & Wales Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024)
Many people believe you can judge the quality of a pizzeria by its margherita, so it can only be a good sign that Pizza Workshop’s is one of their most popular orders. Of course there are loads of other top notch options, including Pizza 4 with double pepperoni and hot chilli honey, and Pizza 5 with goats cheese, roasted peppers and caramelised onion.
3. Kal Dosa
There are some excellent Indian restaurants in Bristol, so any that seem to be getting special attention are definitely worth trying. And Kal Dosa specialises in the rich, tropical flavours found in the coastal states of Southern India. But what’re you guys ordering? The Dindigul Kozi Biryani and the southern fried paneer are apparently a good place to start.
4. Taka Taka
Taka Taka is a Bristol institution, loved for its delicious souvlaki and gyros, so we were absolutely expecting to see it pop up on the list. You can mix and match with the menu to suit your tastes, whether that’s pork, chicken, halloumi or falafel. But the people of Bristol have spoken, and they say the chicken gyros pita wrap is number one.
5. Oowee Diner (Best Burger in South England & Wales Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024)
Another stellar Bristol burger spot, Oowee is a great option for those who’re also partial to a chicken burger every now and then. The Saucy Bird is a crispy chicken thigh with double American and Swiss cheese and baconnaise, and it’s the one you guys can’t get enough of. But if you are going down the beef route, the Dirty Double Burger is apparently the way to go. And garlic butter waffle fries are an absolute must!
6. Dangun Dangun
We know how much our audience loves Korean food, and Dangun is the first option for so many Bristolians when they get that craving. Plus, with such an array of options for both sharing and solo dining, it’s unsurprising it’s such a staple in their Deliveroo repertoire. And coming in top for the best things to order are the vegetable dumplings and the Korean fried chicken rice bowl.
7. Nutmeg Nutmeg
Taking culinary influences from all 29 states, Nutmeg’s menu offers some of the best Indian food in Bristol. We personally think there are few cuisines better suited to sharing than Indian, so the best thing to do is order with friends and try a bit of everything. But in terms of star dishes, the onion bhaji, the chicken Lababdar and the Lucknowi biryani are all go-tos for the locals.
8. The Local Thai
If you’re someone who struggles to order anything other than a Pad Thai when eating Thai food, then you’ll not be disappointed at The Local Thai. But whilst this classic dish is one of their most popular, you can also dive into others such as Massaman and Panaeng curry, both very highly rated orders with their regulars.
9. Eatchu
Eatchu’s simple yet brilliant menu offers a mouth watering selection of Japanese street food, their gyozas being the star of the show. The free range pork and the roasted broccoli, pea, and edamame are two of the most popular. But whichever you choose, you can enjoy them as a stand alone dish or on a bed of fluffy white rice or noodles, along with tasty toppings.
10. Mayflower (Best Chinese in South England & Wales Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024)
The Mayflower’s extensive Chinese menu seems to cover all bases, which must be why you guys have remained loyal customers. As for the standout dishes, we’ve been told you simply can’t go wrong with the aromatic crispy duck, the crispy chilli beef and the salt and chilli chicken.
11. Dhamaka (Regional Restaurant of the Year in South England & Wales Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024)
Offering a variety of delectable street food-style small plates, and Indo-Chinese dishes alongside classic curries, Dhamaka’s menu brings you a taste of each and every corner of India. Their meal deals are perfect if you’re ordering in for a few, and when it comes to selecting your components, the Chicken 65 and Paneer Makhani are two of their most popular.
12. Biblos
Biblos’ irresistible Middle Eastern and Caribbean fusion wraps are beloved by Bristol locals. There are so many fillings to load into your flatbread, but you guys say the Bajan jerk chicken and the halloumi with mayo, Yemen and chilli salsa are always a winner.
13. Loki Poke
With so many delicious toppings and extras to be added to your bowl, tucking into Loki Poke is the ultimate sensory explosion. They have lots of signature bowls to choose from, but your favourite way to order is by building your own to make the perfect creation to suit your tastes.
14. Mission Burrito
Mission Burrito’s made to order burritos and tacos are a go-to for any Bristol local craving Mexican cuisine. If you’re going down the burrito route, it’s ancho chile beef all the way, but if you’re talking tacos, it’s gotta be slow cooked pork carnitas.
15. Three Brothers Burgers
If you prefer a chunkier patty in your burger, then Three Brothers has absolutely got you covered. Their locally reared, grass-fed beef is served between a soft, glazed brioche bun in many different iterations – but their Smokey Bro burger with applewood cheddar, sweet cured bacon, BBQ relish and crispy onions has stolen the hearts of Bristol’s burger lovers.
16. Oowee Vegan
Amassing as much of a loyal following as their original restaurant, Oowee Vegan’s meat-free burgers have acquired an elite status on the Bristol food scene. All their burgers are fantastic in their own right, but the Flamin’ Hot Clucker with a side of Cluckin’ fries will hit the spot everytime.
