A magician will probably never have an easier crowd to amaze than an inebriated one. So Smoke & Mirrors has pulled off the ultimate trick by opening its very own magic-themed pub—where it’s known for staging close-up magic, comedy and music in its secret 1920s themed theatre.
In true magician’s style, Smoke & Mirrors is disguised with a classic pub façade on Bristol’s historic Denmark Street. Inside, you’ll find your normal pub fare (beer and wine, stone-baked pizzas, that sort of thing), but with a difference. Every Thursday to Saturday, house magicians will blow your mind with table magic, as you enjoy a drink or two.

But it’s the 40-seater theatre—showcasing established acts and up-and-comers in music, magic and comedy—that really steals the show. When it comes to comedy, Smoke & Mirrors has hosted legends like Helen Bauer, Esther Manito, Russell Kane, Russell Howard, Alan Carr, Jon Richardson, Rob Beckett, and Romesh Ranganathan.
Just some of the magical luminaries to grace the stage, meanwhile, include the likes of AGT sensation ‘The Real Sherlock Holmes’ Colin Cloud, four-time FISM champion Matthew Wright, Las Vegas headliner Jeff McBride, and beloved BGT magicians Jamie Raven, Matt Edwards, and John Archer.

There are often shows six nights a week, but the star of Smoke & Mirrors’ theatre is The House Magicians Comedy & Magic Show (with performances at 7pm and 9pm every Saturday). Get ready for an unforgettable straight hour of nonstop close-up magic from resident comedy magicians—with tickets starting from £26 each.
