Psychopomp Microdistillery’s onsite bar is back after a six-year hiatus. Known for its own spirits, all produced locally in Bristol—from gin to vodka, absinthe to aquavit—it originally closed during the pandemic. But the intimate and cosy venue is open once again, offering cocktails.
The launch cocktail menu focuses on classic, refined signature serves, including The Martini, The Negroni, and The Manhattan, with seasonal serves added throughout the year. Psychopomp Distillery @ 145 St Michael’s Hill is open Thursday to Saturday, with a happy hour, 5pm to 7pm, on all opening days, with £6.50 cocktails (instead of £8).

“Thankfully, we are now in a position to open our doors again and welcome customers back to our space for a post-work drink,” said founder Liam Hirt, who runs two B Corp-certified, carbon-neutral distilleries in Bristol. Alongside Psychopomp, he heads up Circumstance Distillery, the first distillery in over 80 years to produce whisky in Bristol.
He continues, “We want to say a massive thank you to the community around St Michael’s Hill for welcoming us back with open arms. It has been great to see so many friendly and familiar faces start to come in and visit us again – we look forward to keeping the locals in good spirits.”

Psychopomp and Circumstance are widely regardedas two of the most experimental distilleries in the UK. Customers can buy award-winning products in the onsite shop, while the team offer expert advice on all of the spirits in store—ranging from canned Negronis to Psychopomp’s signature Wōden Gin.
“We can’t wait to welcome discerning drinkers to our cosy bar at Psychopomp Microdistillery,” said Cally Way, bar manager. “Our refined drinks menu has really been distilled down to showcase the spirits that Psychopomp and Circumstance produce right here in the heart of Bristol.”
Not just serving cocktails in the bar, the venue will also host events such as gin-making classes, whisky tastings, gin tastings, cocktail masterclasses and seasonal workshops. It is also available for private hire, accommodating up to 20 guests. To learn more about Psychopomp, head here.
