Totterdown has always been one of Bristol’s most colourful neighbourhoods, but this month, residents and visitors alike should keep an eye out for an extra splash of colour. The oldest arts trail in Bristol returns, as artists’ homes and studios, and several community spaces, once more open their doors to the public.

Since its inception in 2001, the Totterdown Arts Trail has attracted flocks of art lovers to the free annual event. This year, it celebrates its 25th anniversary on November 15 & 16. You can chat with the artists, get a peek into the creative process, and even take home a one-of-a-kind piece of art.
Hundreds of local artists will exhibit their work, offering everything from pottery and sculpture to handmade jewellery, prints, and textiles. If that wasn’t enough, a handful of free workshops—from creating your own book at The Harbour to printmaking Christmas cards at Hillcrest Primary School.
What do I need to know about Totterdown Arts Trail?

The 2025 arts trail will be open from 11am to 6pm on Saturday, November 15, and 11am to 5pm on Sunday, November 16. You can easily spot those taking part by the iconic orange Ducksy flags flying above, while estate agent-style boards (sponsored by Bristol’s independent estate agents, Boardwalk) help point the way.
You can find the Arts Trail Booklet in most local Totterdown businesses, which contains a printed map, as well as information on venues and artists. Otherwise, you can head to the website here, where you can learn all that and more—like food and drink recommendations, as well as purchase Totterdown Arts Trail stickers.
