We’ve heard plenty of rumours trickling over the last few months of new openings coming to Bristol’s Cabot Circus. But finally, we have something concrete to confirm. We’ve never been golfers at Secret Bristol, but this is something that everyone should get excited about. A brand-new, mini golf course, Treetop Golf, will tee up at the shopping centre.
The mini golf course has agreed to a lease for a 17,000 sq ft unit inside Cabot Circus (though we’re not exactly sure where yet). This will be Treetop Golf’s sixth UK destination, but its first in Bristol – currently, the closest location is in Cardiff. It will bring, not one, but two immersive indoor 18-hole mini golf courses to the South West of England.
These two jungle-themed courses include the Tropical Trail and Ancient Explorer. Plus, a bonus 19th hole will offer all players the chance to win a free round. How good’s your putting aim? There’s no set date yet for an opening, however, we just know it will be at some point “later this year”.
“We can’t wait to bring our immersive mini-golf destination to Bristol,” said Elizabeth Stanway, CEO and Co-Founder of Treetop Golf. “We’re on a mission to spread wonder and to help our guests connect through new experiences and share special moments together. It’s great to be working again with the Hammerson team and we’re thrilled to be supporting their plans in growing Cabot Circus’ entertainment offering.”
Hosting everything from birthday parties and school trips to corporate get-togethers, Treetop Golf is suitable for all ages. You can even hire out the entire venue for a large event if you want! Golfers will also be able to tuck into handmade pizza, sample tropical cocktails and mocktails bar or grab some coffee and snacks.
“Our vision is to reposition Cabot Circus from a place where people come only to shop, to a multi-use ‘destination’ offering a real mix of exciting entertainment, social and lifestyle experiences,” said Shelley Taylor, Asset Manager at Hammerson. “This is just the first step in a series of exciting new brands we plan to announce this year.”
This new ‘vision’ for Cabot Circus has so far seen an award-winning pop-up skatepark attract over 2,000 people in 7 days over October Half Term last year; an 11.5-metre mural and ticketed workshops hosted by Aardman Studios; and a series of pop-up gigs that’s seen the likes of Dizzee Rascal, DJ Roni Size and Massive Attack’s Daddy G Grant all perform.
