Spring has sprung and summer sits on the horizon. The days are getting longer and warmer, and it’s basically almost T-shirt weather. But there’s no better time to celebrate the sunshine than at Summer Solstice – the longest day of the year! Following the success of Meridian Soluna, last month’s welcoming of the Spring Equinox, Wake the Tiger will welcome Summer Solstice for its third edition of celestial celebrations. (It also threw a very special Winter Solstice party last year.)
Since the creators of Boomtown opened the world’s first ‘Amazement Park’ last summer, Wake The Tiger has continued to capture our collective imaginations. On June 30, Sundust invites us all once again to return to the world of Meridia for a special adults-only, summer solstice celebration. Between 7:30pm and 1:00am, celebrations of the sun will include live music, performance, theatre, and circus.
The ultimate challenge for guests will be to outshine the most powerful star – the sun – with an out-of-this-world outfit. The Wake The Tiger team recommend this should be either recycled, repurposed or used previously – all in the name of guests energising themselves at Sundust. Entry starts at 7:30pm and there will be a selection of delicious food and drink available to purchase at the bar. Included in the ticket price is complete access to the Wake the Tiger immersive experience with a pre-booked time slot during the booking process.
What is Wake The Tiger?
Wake The Tiger is by the artistic team behind the ground-breaking festival Boomtown Fair. Attendees can explore a multi-layered labyrinth of creative interactive environments, fantastical wonders and daring new experiences at the site in St Phillips. Visitors step into the amazing parallel world of Meridia: a multi-layered maze of immersive environments, secret passageways, hidden forests, temples, ice caves and mesmerising wonders.
The otherworldly concept aims to inspire new ways of reconnecting people with their environment and community. With 27 distinct spaces within the experience, the art installations explore themes of connection and innovation, inspiration and discovery. Wake The Tiger invites people of all ages to leave no corner unturned, as they voyage through the parallel world, which lasts around an hour. Following the experience, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy food and drink in the Amazement Park’s café.
“Putting on these amazing events is one of the things we love the most at Wake the Tiger,” said Lucy Jarjoura, sales & marketing director at Wake the Tiger. “We’re all about coming together and celebrating with the community, so we can’t wait for Bristol to see what we’ve got in store for Sundust. Once the sunshine hits, you better be ready for us Bristol!”
Tickets for Sundust are on sale from the Wake the Tiger website for £29.50.
