Here’s the thing. I know it’s We The Curious, but I’m always going to call it @Bristol. The city’s science museum played such an important role in my childhood that the name’s stuck in my head forever. It’s sad to remember then that today’s children have been without it for the past two years – luckily there’s not long left to wait!
We The Curious reopens on Tuesday, July 2, with an opening celebration planned for Saturday, July 6. To celebrate, the science centre is hiding 80 free group entry tickets across 16 Bristol postcodes from this month. The citywide hunt for these ‘Curiositickets’ will take you to locations across the city – from Windmill Hill City Farm to Westbury Wildlife Park.
Each Curiositicket grants six people free entry to We The Curious, plus a Planetarium show, and free travel via First Bus to and from the venue. There will be five Curiositickets – in the form of a silver 3D-printed token – hidden in each postcode from BS1-16. Starting with Lyde Green Community Centre (May 20), they’ll drop at city farms, community gardens and even hidden on buses over the coming weeks.
“We’ve created these Curiositickets in the hope that we can provide a little surprise and fun for people in Bristol to get stuck into, as they search for our silver tokens all over the city,” said Bryony Roberts, Content Director for We The Curious. “Being accessible and inclusive is really important to us, so ahead of our reopening we wanted to create a bit of a buzz with an activity that was open to everyone, whether you’re We The Curious fans or have never heard of us before.”
“It’s also a great way to say thank you to everyone who supported us during our closure, including our brilliant partners, and those who’ve taken part in our Out and About events. It’s really meant a lot, so it feels right to celebrate reopening with our city. It’s the perfect way to get curious about your local area, and even explore a new part of Bristol you’ve not been to yet. We can’t wait to welcome the Curiositicket winners through our doors in our reopening year!”

Curiositicket winners must then book their visit in advance.
