Windmill Hill City Farm has been a vital hub for south Bristol since it was created in the 1970s. Taking over a plot of inner city wasteland, the volunteer-run farm has provided a place of recreation and education using food, farming and the environment to improve the lives of local people. Today, it still provides for the south Bristol community, from outdoor learning for school groups to plans for a new open-air theatre.
This weekend, Windmill Hill City Farm will launch its own monthly market too. Following a successful series of pilot markets late last year, Windmill Hill Market will launch properly this Saturday (April 1). The market will take place on the first Saturday of each month, from 10 am – 3 pm, and will also be dog-friendly!
You’ll find up to 50 stalls at Windmill Hill Market with an emphasis on designer-makers. Expect a variety of handmade items, such as ceramics and pottery, clothing and accessories, homeware and décor, jewellery, prints and illustrations, vintage & retro, books, cards and stationery. There will also be local food and drink produce, street food stalls, and a taproom from the Bruhaha nano-brewery based on the farm. Plus there’s kid’s crafts and live music.
