Bristol Beacon is back, and the Bristol Arena is coming next year (fingers crossed), but for a long time, Ashton Gate was the city’s number one destination for music’s biggest names – hosting everyone from The Killers and Muse to Elton John and Spice Girl in BS3. And despite hosting Bristol City FC and the Bristol Bears rugby on an almost weekly basis, it still looks to be throwing some of the greatest shows around.
Ashton Gate will be throwing its first-ever multi-artist concert at the stadium across two stages in the summer. Ashton Gate Presents BS3 will see 10 unique acts play across Saturday, June 22, with the first acts now revealed. These are the three-time Grammy Award-winning R&B hitmaker, Ne-Yo; Craig David presents TS5, who has racked up 20 UK Top 40 singles; and, celebrating 30 years of garage, DJ Spoony and his 26-piece orchestra.
“We have seen such a massive demand for live music in Bristol every time we announce a concert, so we are excited to be taking this new step and promoting our own multi-artist event in what is a first for Ashton Gate,” said Jenny Hutchinson, Venue Director at Ashton Gate. “Our team has worked hard to curate this new show for the stadium, which will see ten incredible artists perform back-to-back hits throughout the day across two stages.”
“We have fine-tuned our concert operation, teaming up with experts in the industry to ensure we deliver a truly spectacular concert. We are always proud to deliver memorable experiences for our audiences, so we are thrilled to be able to present our own show at the stadium. Ashton Gate Presents BS3 will lay the foundations for us to deliver more multi-artist shows in the future!”
With another seven artists still to be announced, the event aims to offer “the biggest and most popular artists” in the world, while also reflecting the diversity and musical heritage Bristol is famous for. Ashton Gate intends BS3 to become a recurring event too in the South West, centred around live performances from legendary artists, current chart-toppers and rising stars of the future.
Tickets for Ashton Gate Presents BS3 start at £40, with early bird tickets on sale Thursday, January 11 before the general sale on Friday, January 12. To sign up for pre-registration head here.
