Bristol’s music scene has always been something to be proud of. From Portishead and Roni Size to Idles and Eats Everything, it has long competed with every other major city for creativity. And should be, rightly so, celebrated and encouraged as often as possible. Well Bristol Takeover does just that.
Heading to Bristol Beacon, Bristol Takeover is a genre-spanning festival showcasing the breadth of local talent. DJs, bands and solo artists will take to the stage on November 19 and show why they are destined to be Bristol’s future superstars of tomorrow. It also serves as a timely reminder of the venue’s long-term place within Bristol’s music scene.
The successful Takeover in 2021 saw crowds pour out to see the musical talents of Griz-o, GROVE and Getdown Services. This year we expect the free, one-day mini-festival to attract even greater numbers to party into the night.
Incredible emerging musical talent invited this year includes the likes of Club Djembe, a Bristol-based party and record label known for throwing high-intensity, feel good club music parties. Club Djembe are synonymous with Bristol’s high energy DJ scene and must not be missed by anyone who loves to throwdown on the dancefloor
Also taking to the stage will be indie R&B singer Mercy’s Cartel, who has built a reputation for producing poetic, belting harmonies. Pleasure Dome will bring pure punk energy. While the likes of Concrete Jungyals x TFNE B2B EMMY, D. Dent, KIER, Kutamba, NEKO, Purpl and Yam & Banana Records are also performing.
Bristol Takeover will take place between the hours of 2pm and 1am, with everyone invited. More artists will be announced soon. To keep up-to-date head over to the Bristol Beacon website.
