Yes, we know that every Christmas market is a little bit magical, a little bit different and a little bit special. But after a few, they all start to look the same. Even Bristol Christmas Market becomes indistinguishable from the others, but the Christmas market at Blenheim Palace is different.
Taking place in the Great Court of this 300-year-old country house, the stunning backdrop of Blenheim Palace sets it apart from every other market in Britain. So grand is the location, it was swapped in for Buckingham Palace in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story – including the final ball scene – as well as in Season 3 of the Regency romance, Bridgerton. If you’d like to learn more about the country house head here.
But we’re here to talk about Christmas. The seasonal village of traditional wooden chalets will be selling everything from Christmas gifts to festive treats from Friday, November 15 to Sunday, December 22. Only 90 minutes from Bristol, the Christmas market is free to visit too, but you will need a ticket to experience the rest of Christmas at Blenheim Palace.
What is happening for Christmas at Blenheim Palace?
Beyond the market, Blenheim Palace has a brand new Christmas light trail for 2024 – complete with thousands of glowing lights, festive sounds, and a glimpse of Father Christmas himself. Plus, for the first time, Blenheim Palace will host its own ice rink in the ground’s stunning Great Court (beside the Christmas market).
Step inside of the country house itself this Christmas and you’ll discover a Blenheim Palace transformed into Neverland. You’ll follow Tinkerbell on a swashbuckling adventure through each room, across a moonlit London skyline and onto the Mermaid Lagoon – with sprinkles of fairy dust over baubles and Christmas trees. And why not tuck into an extra special Neverland-themed afternoon tea?
Throughout this breathtaking palace – which is one of England’s biggest houses and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 – you’ll also find plenty of festive decorations including a gigantic Christmas Tree in The Great Hall. And with 2,000 acres of parkland to explore, plus 300 years of history, you’ll unlikely run out of things to do.
To enjoy all of Christmas at Blenheim Palace adult tickets cost £67, but include an annual free entry to Blenheim Palace. Children’s tickets start at £43.50, but if you’re heading down as a family of four, you can grab a ticket for £197. To learn more information about Christmas at Blenheim Palace head here.
