Since when was making friends so hard? Back in primary school, we’d only have to point at a new kid and ask, ‘Do you want to be my friend?’ and wait for their inevitable answer, ‘Yes.’ These days, we’re struggling to convince the few friends we do have to hang out, let alone find new ones that we click with.
So where do adults go to meet new people? What do we do to forge new friendships? Well, this is the question that Click is asking. Its founders, Lucy and Sarah, are two Bristol-based friends, that “crave genuine social connections yet have found it really f***ing hard to find them as we navigate adulthood.” Sound familiar?
What is Click?
They’re calling it a social networking club, but it’s essentially an organised hangout around an activity. Every week or so, they’ll put on fun and new activities for you to try out – where you can, hopefully, meet like-minded people and make lifelong friendships along the way. You know, people you just Click with.
From fitness classes to craft workshops, or even an evening out at one of Bristol’s finest restaurants, there’s something for everyone. It’s launching on May 1 with a wine tasting at Mercy Mercy Mercy in Clifton Village. But a whole range of events are already planned up until the end of June – with more to be revealed soon.
Up afterwards on the calendar is a 5k jog followed by a picnic in the park (May 6), before a vegan cake decorating session hosted by the Bakes by Grace (May 16). Looking ahead to June, book a self-care Sunday with yoga, delicious brunch, and a Gua Sha workshop (June 9). Or tuck into an intimate dinner with Click’s Supper Club (June 27).
Each event is priced individually, with discounts for Click members – memberships cost £19.99 a year. Most activities are open to all, but there’ll be plenty of member-only events throughout the year. Whether you’re up for getting boozy at a bar or creative with a crafty workshop, just remember to be yourself – you’re here to make friends!
