Fancy a trip to Amsterdam this summer, but want to skip the airport? Well, the coach isn’t always your best option either from Bristol because it often means a layover in London. But you’re in luck as budget coach company FlixBus UK will soon launch a new direct route. As of next month, you can travel from Bristol directly to a handful of European cities.
A total of five new routes will launch in July, travelling to the likes of Belgium and the Netherlands from the South West. You’ll be able to enjoy trips from Bristol to Antwerp, Utrecht and Amsterdam starting on July 13. Services from Bristol to Bruges, Rotterdam and Amsterdam, via London, will start on July 21 and operate five days a week through FlixBus partner, Turners Coaches.
Don’t fancy leaving the UK this year? No problem. FlixBus will also extend its route between London and Penzance for the summer season. While the extension of the Bristol to Plymouth route will mean buses will operate twice daily to Penzance, Newquay and Hayle. Perfect for escaping to the seaside this summer.
“Summer travel just became more affordable and sustainable than ever thanks to our new international and domestic routes,” said Andreas Schorling, managing director of FlixBus UK. “We’re building the largest coach network in the country and as part of our unique offering, we’ll become the first coach provider offering regular scheduled services from Bristol into some of Europe’s most popular destinations.
Tickets from Bristol to Amsterdam and Rotterdam start at £27.99, while a coach to Bruges will cost as low as £19.99. FlixBus will also launch travel between Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Cambridge, Stratford, North Greenwich, Antwerp, Utrecht and Amsterdam on July 13.
