You could join the likes of Jane in winning £1000 for your dinner party.
From dream dinner parties to absolute dining disasters, the hit Channel 4 cooking show that has five complete strangers taking turns in hosting what they consider to be the ultimate dinner party is making a return to our screens. Come Dine With Me is looking for contestants in the Bristol area who are up for the challenge of cooking three top notch courses and providing great entertainment to their guests…and to us sat at home.
We’re sure you need no introduction to Come Dine With Me, which began in back in 2005 (feeling old?) but the premise is that a group of amateur chefs each host a dinner party, before rating each other’s meals out of 10 for the chance to win a whopping cash prize of £1000. Over the years, the show has provided us with some scenes of true TV gold, including that one of Peter, whose iconic rant at poor old Jane will forever go down in the show’s history.

And you could join Jane by being the next winner (hopefully minus the rant). The show normally has four people hosting each other for three-course dinner parties in their own homes, but because of Covid-19, the programme makers are having all the dinner parties in one centralised house.
The closing date to take part in this series is September 10, depending on location, but the casting producers recommend you get your application in as soon as possible. If you fancy showing your cooking prowess and think you can do better than “A Mess” or Tina from season 35’s minimal effort, who served her guests tinned curry, a bag of pre-cooked rice and shop bought flatbreads, get applying!
Come Dine With Me is coming to Bristol in the first week of August, so you’ve not got too long to brush up your lockdown-acquired cookery skills and prepare your menu. Plus, word is the Channel 4 programme is also planning to film some plant-based and vegetarian special episodes, so get practising those meatless meals for a chance to win a grand.
The only criteria is that you are over 18 and not working as or a trained professional chef. If you think you or someone you know would make the perfect contestant then you can head the website here or email cdwm@multistory.tv for more information and to apply. Good luck and remember not to stick a whole whisk in your mouth on camera!
