Honestly? Catch us at the right moment and we’d pay anything for a soufflé pancake. It’s been on our mind for months now ever since discovering it jiggling away on TikTok. And we’re desperate to try the heavenly-looking dessert. Thankfully, Fluffy Fluffy has us sorted.
Opening in Bristol last month (March 23), the dessert cafe from Canada specialises in Japanese soufflé pancakes. They’re the fluffiest, lightest, most heavenly pancakes you could ever dream of – coming with a range of flavours, from cookies and cream to match tiramisu.
“Each pancake begins with egg whites whipped to soft peaks, essential to their finally airy quality, and is then cooked very slowly at low temperature,” is how they’re described on the Fluffy Fluffy website. “Tasting like a delicate balance between a soufflé and a traditional pancake, soufflé pancakes are soft, bouncy, and light.”
It’s not all about these viral sensations either. Fluffy Fluffy also offers traditional somethings it’s calling a ‘croffle’. What’s that, you ask? It’s a mind-bending fusion of croissants and waffles – described as “crispy, flaky, and utterly delicious.” You’ll also be able to pick up one of its signature colourful drinks, including coffee and sodas.
We’re also expecting Fluffy Fluffy to redefine another TikTok sensation very soon too with its interpretation of the Basque burnt cheesecake. These melt-in-your-mouth soufflé cheesecakes can only be described as light and airy – the Fluffy Fluffy way. It comes in a range of flavours too, from mango to matcha. More surprises are on the way too.
It’s now open at the bottom of Park Street, near Banksy’s Well Hung Lover, this is only the fourth Fluffy Fluffy in the UK after sites in Leicester, Manchester and Reading – so you’ll struggle to find these incredible viral souffle pancakes anywhere else in the country.
