It’s impossible to think that someone might not have heard of Only Fools and Horses. This iconic sitcom set in South London is maybe Britain’s best, but did you know it was filmed in Bristol? Well, of course you did, everyone does. With everything from Harbourside restaurants and cafes to Del Boy’s red no 22 lock-up door in Bedminster popping up in the show, it’s hard not to notice…
But did you know Only Fools and Horses is making a sort of comeback to Bristol very soon? After a record-breaking sold-out four-year run in London’s West End, Only Fools and Horses The Musical is going on tour. Starting in Bromley on September 23, 2024, the hit musical will tour the country and end in Liverpool on June 21, 2025.
Along the way, the Only Fools and Horses The Musical will stop off in its spiritual home of Bristol. It will perform at the Bristol Hippodrome between January 27 to February 8, 2025, where we’ll get to see the likes of Del Boy, Rodney and Grandad on the big stage at last. Lovely jubbly!
Based on John Sullivan’s legendary television show, the critically acclaimed musical is written by John’s son, Jim Sullivan, and Paul Whitehouse. Helping to bring the classic comedy to life on stage, expect musical contributions from the iconic Chas & Dave. Alongside, the beloved theme tune you’ve heard a million times is an array of brand-new songs guaranteed to provide a right ol’ knees-up!
Only Fools and Horses The Musical is described as: “Join us as we take a trip back in time, where it’s all kicking off in Peckham. While the yuppie invasion of London is in full swing, love is in the air as Del Boy sets out on the rocky road to find his soul mate, Rodney and Cassandra prepare to say ‘I do’, and even Trigger is gearing up for a date (with a person!). Meanwhile, Boycie and Marlene give parenthood one final shot and Grandad takes stock of his life and decides the time has finally arrived to get his piles sorted.”
