It’s no secret that Pizzarova is one of our favourite pizzerias in Bristol. Whether we’re exploring Gloucester Road or relaxing harbourside by Wapping Wharf, we can grab a perfect pie almost wherever we are in the city. Now those south of the river can find out what all the fuss is about.
Joining other locations on Park Street and at Propyard, locals of Bedminster can now grab a slice from Pizzarova’s fifth location, recently launched (September 16) on North Street. It faces tough competition in the area, with Pizza Workshop, Pimms Pizza and, even, a Pizza Hut on the same street. But, after a three-month opening delay, we’re confident these freshly made sourdough pizzas can more than hold their own.
There’s a reason Pizzarova is a firm favourite with Bristolians. It has quickly spread across the city since launching its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in 2017. So expect this new location to offer everything you know and love about the other locations. Using a starter that has been fed for over 70 years, slowly fermented sourdough gives their puffed-up pizza crusts a distinct and moreish taste. They then finish pizzas with a smattering off classic, and uniquely delicious, toppings.
The margherita deluxe is ultra-cheesy thanks to the extra mozzarella, and has a little kick from chili flakes. While, a meat-lover’s must is the double chorizo and hot honey for that perfect sweet and salty combo. Don’t worry though Bristol vegan’s, there’s options here for you too. The homemade vegan nduja, with toasted sunflower seed pesto and vegan cheese pizza has even our carnivorous mouth-watering. You can also design your own pizzas, if you’re feeling adventurous.
If you’re new to Pizzarova, however, don’t expect a fancy eatery. Everything is served in pizza boxes and there’s no cutlery to grab. This is pizza to be picked up and eaten with your hands. The best kind if you ask us! There is also a variety of locally-sourced drinks available, including beers, wines, mixers and soft drinks. And if you’ve got room for pudding afterwards, you can grab a serving of Brickell’s Somerset handmade ice cream.
Pizzarova started back in 2013, roaming around Somerset in a Land Rover fitted with a pizza oven. The original Land Rover Defender is still a part of the team, catering for weddings, festivals and gatherings. To enquire about hiring, just ask at the counter.
