Looking for secondhand books, eclectic board games, fiery hot sauces or amazing street food? There’s no better place to stop than St Nick’s Market. Established in 1743, it holds Bristol’s largest collection of independent retailers. It is bursting at the seams with various, exciting stalls. Every summer, things get even more packed, however, as we are treated to St Nick’s Night Market.
Taking place on the first Friday of the month throughout summer, St Nick’s Night Market sees musicians and performers bring the market and Old City to life at night. Shindig Festival resident DJs, The Sly Players, will be spinning some tunes in the Glass Arcade. While on the Register Office steps the line-up will range from Anglo-Chinese pop fusion to high-energy Irish and Balkan dance grooves.
Feeling peckish? Enjoy food from St Nicholas Market’s regular food traders. They’ll be open late, such as Pieminister, Wokyko, Matina, Momo Bar, Low and Slow, Eat a Pitta, Caribbean Wrap, Olive Works, Spice Up Your Life, Crafty Beans, Portuguese Taste, La Lola, Cafe Atlas, Juice Bar, Eatchu and Taco Barra. Corn Street will also be packed with street food stalls too.
Expect the surrounding area to be overflowing with dancing revellers filled up on some of the best street food in Bristol. Meanwhile, The Covered Market and Exchange Hall will also be open for late-night shopping too. Perfect for some tipsy purchasing. While a range of bars – like Dick Willows cider, More Wine, Mr Wolf’s Night Market bar and Cafe Exchange – keep the drinks flowing.
St Nick’s Night Market is organised by Love Food Bristol and will run from 5.30pm – 10pm.
