Pancake Day falls on February 21 this year and we’re already planning to eat our weight in pancakes. Everyone should have a flippin’ good Pancake Day by enjoying a stack or two of pancakes from some of these Bristol cafés and restaurants serving everything from fluffy American-style to to Sri Lankan coconut milk pancakes.

1. Boston Tea Party
Brunch is well and truly back and Boston Tea Party is here to bring you your brunch fix of pancakes. Enjoy a stack at one of their five Bristol branches and choose from American pancakes with either smoked bacon, maple syrup and maple butter or blueberry compote and Greek yoghurt. 2. Chez Marcel
Gorgeously-filled galettes are all the rage in France, especially on the west coast of the country, and it seems they are a winner at Chez Marcel on Broad Street too. This little Bristol café is offering these pancakes with exciting fillings such as caramelised onions, smoked sausage and cheese, as well as the classic Brittany galette of ham, cheese and egg.
Chez Marcel’s galettes are a great solution for those looking to enjoy Pancake Day with a twist and are more in favour of savoury fillings rather than sweet. Plus, there are four vegan galettes to choose from made using buckwheat flour, which is also gluten-free.

3. At The Well
Up in Stokes Croft is At The Well, which is the perfect place for all your dessert (and washing) needs. At The Well is open* for laundry services as well as serving their delicious pancakes to the people of Bristol. Try their American-style pancakes with either homemade caramel, banana, squirty cream and chocolate sauce; vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, banana, raspberries and squirty cream; or miso caramel, blueberries, raspberries, figs and vanilla ice cream.
They’re also be serving a massive stack of five pancakes which are great for sharing (if you really have to) and topped with bacon, blueberries, raspberries, with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce and squirty cream on the side – just wow!

4. The Crafty Egg
The botanical paradise come brunch spot that is The Crafty Egg is offering tasty pancakes to indulge in this Pancake Day. The café and restaurant, which also has a Fishponds site, serves up classic thick pancakes with maple syrup as well as options to add the likes of bacon, sausage, egg, blueberries, Nutella, banana or peanut butter. And if you’re feeling extra hungry this Pancake Day, why not take on the Crafty Challenge? Tuck into either a meaty or veggie Crafty breakfast with a stack of maple pancakes and three fried eggs.

5. The Coconut Tree
Fancy a change from the usual crêpes or American-style pancakes? Expand your pancake horizons by ordering a hopper from Sri Lankan restaurant, The Coconut Tree. Hoppers are a bowl shaped coconut milk pancake served with coconut sambol, seeni sambol (caramelised onions with a hint of cinnamon) and lunu miris (Sri Lankan salsa).
The Coconut Tree, which has two Bristol branches, offers this coconut milk pancakes as a savoury or sweet dish, as it can be enjoyed with a fried egg or drizzled with Sri Lankan Kittle treacle served with ice cream as a decadent dessert.

6. Cosy Club
This Pancake Day, Cosy Club at both on Corn Street has created a limited-edition menu full of perfect stacks. From February 18 to 21, enjoy a tower of up to nine pancakes for Cosy Club’s signature Black Forest Gateaux Stack; topped with chocolate brownie, raspberries, cherry syrup, and whipped cream. While visitors can also mix and match a whopping 15 toppings, including bananas, white chocolate bark, and salted caramel sauce to make their own.
If you can’t make it down for Pancake Day, don’t stress. Cosy Club serves up huge fluffy stacks all year round. With a choice between buttermilk pancakes topped with smoked streaky bacon, blueberries and maple, or berries, banana and Greek yoghurt.

7. Flour House
Flour House is an all-round brilliant brunch spot – and great for doggie-lovers too. From homemade granola to huevos rancheros, all your breakfast needs are met at this friendly and colourful Bristol cafe. But we’re here for pancakes, and Flour House’s newest vegan banana pancake stack – with a blueberry compote, peanut butter sauce, coconut yoghurt and homemade granola – is a must try in Bristol.

8. The Crepe and Coffee Cabin
It claims to be Bristol’s smallest cafe – but it’s not the only one to say that. Even so, you can’t beat that Harbourside location overlooking the historic docklands. Or the delicious, thin and crispy pancakes served at The Crepe and Coffee Cabin. While fluffy American-style pancakes often rule menus, this is the style many of us grew up with and simply tastes like nostalgia. WHether you want sweet or savoury crepes, this place has you sorted.

9. Quay Street Diner
At this independent all-day American-style diner, you’d be more surprised if there weren’t fluffy pancakes on the menu! So of course it has plenty of options. Quay Street Diner in Bristol city centre has four toppings to choose from: bacon and maple syrup; blueberries and maple syrup; fresh fruit and créme fraîche; and banana, whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
