Things are going to get trippy at The Science of Psychedelics.

Ok, so 2021 might not be going off to a flying start in terms of resolutions, but there is still hope of meeting at least one of them as we’re gradually seeing the light at the end of the lockdown tunnel. Here to tick “learn something new” off that list are Fever Talks, who are bringing a fascinating lecture about The Science of Psychedelics to town. Nifty, right? The talk will take place on June 8 at 7pm, at the spacious venue of Ashton Gate Stadium. You can find your tickets here and read on for more.

How can psychoactive drugs can help us understand human consciousness and therapeutic techniques? The Science of Psychedelics sets out to answer that question, as Dr David Luke, a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Greenwich and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College, delivers a really thought-provoking talk. He’ll be diving into the research to explain how psychedelics could find new uses in the modern world, whether that be in the potential treatment of depression, anxiety, and addiction, or exploring how the human brain connects to nature.

Psychedelics have been an important part of human culture for thousands of years, but we’re still trying to understand them and their uses. The Science of Psychedelics aims to answer all your burning questions – and if you’ve still got more left at the end, you can raise them in the Q&A!
