Honestly? This is amazing news! We can almost never justify having a burger for lunch (even though we wish we could) but tomorrow we might make an exception. Because at lunchtime (September 26), Honest Burgers plans to hand out thousands of free smashed burgers nationwide.
The Bristol branch on Clare Street has 100 burgers and chips to hand out (with 4000 to giveaway in total across its 40 restaurants). Introduced back in October 2022, Honest Burger’s smashed burger – literally a burger smashed into the grill – is now one of the top-selling burgers on the menu. So we can guarantee this will be popular.
These delicious freebies are to celebrate the launch of the restaurant’s crowdfunding campaign. Customers are being invited to invest in the launch of a brand-new quick-service style restaurant due to open next year – specialising in smashed burgers, rosemary chips and milkshakes. The aim is to challenge bigger brands on speed, convenience and value, without compromising on quality.
These freebie smashed burgers will be available at Honest Burgers across the country from 1130am, given away on a first-come, first-served basis. One lucky customer will also win a ‘Golden Shares’ prize, receiving £5,000 worth of shares in Honest Burgers. Essentially this will make them an immediate co-owner of the burger joint!
“We started in a marquee, in a muddy field, mostly in the rain!” said Tom Barton, co-founder of Honest Burgers. “It’s fair to say, we never dreamed we’d get to where we are today. One thing for sure is we wouldn’t have got here without our loyal customers.
“So we wanted to give them the opportunity to become co-owners of the brand as we set up for the next chapter in our story. And nothing says thank you better than a free burger! We’ve been totally overwhelmed with the response to our crowdfunding campaign and we’re super excited that our customers can join us for the next stage of our adventure”.
