Where’s Bristol’s coolest neighbourhood? Ask around, and you’d probably get a lot of answers along the lines of Stokes Croft, Southville, or Easton. But, according to The Times (not exactly the coolest newspaper, we know), it’s none of these. But among its 11 coolest UK postcodes to move to in 2026, it’s picked out the Bristol spot “for in-the-know foodies.”
Where is the coolest spot in Bristol?
On an annual guide that also features Essex’s Manningtree (CO11), Belfast’s Eastside (BT4), London’s Poplar (E14), the list is rounded out by Bristol’s Redland (BS6). While the whole city is highlighted “as one of the fastest-growing housing markets in the country”, Redland is particularly cool for “drawing in foodies with its restaurant scene.”

The highlight of Redland’s restaurant scene? Chandos Road. If it’s not the Michelin-starred bistro Wilsons—star of Apple TV’s hit show Knife’s Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars—it’s “Michelin-approved pasta at Little Hollows, or Korean home cooking at Dong[n]ae,” or why not try the new “oyster bar that has relocated from St Ives”, One Fish Street.
Other highlights of Chandos Road, not named, include The Good Measure pub run by Good Chemistry Brewing, Italian restaurant-cum-wine bar Snobby’s, and Wilson’s Bread Shop, where you can pick up a koji-cure bread roll. Plus, there’s plenty more to be found on this foodie “epicentre”, but it’s not all there is in Redland.
Jound the corner, celebrity chef Josh Eggleton runs the Kensington Arms, aka The Kenny, for proper pub grub, while the equally enticing foodie hotspot Cotham Hill (which doesn’t get a mention) is on the edge of the neighbourhood. The Time’s hit tip, however, is the monthly Chicken Lunch Club, co-founded by Wilsons’ Jan Ostle and Pieminister’s Tristan Hogg.
