Never mind Veganuary, sustaining a plant-based diet is becoming easier every day of the year in Bristol. Whether you are craving pasta or pizza, there are several vegan-dedicated spots to eat at across the city. Now a vegan Indian takeaway is heading to Bristol soon too.
Vegan India, from the team behind Tikka Express in Easton, is aiming to open on Gloucester Road in February. While the Easton location is best-described as vegan-friendly, this new venture will serve a 100% plant-based menu. It will take over the spot formerly filled by Atomic Burger.
“My dear vegan friends, thank you for your support last two years and give us a opportunity to serve you delicious vegan Indian food,” said Tikka Express in a Facebook post. “That was an amazing journey with amazing customers. Thank you all. Now we would like to expand our service. We are opening our 100% vegan Indian restaurant at 189 Gloucester Road, where you can come relax and enjoy 100% vegan Indian food.”
Currently Vegan India operates out of Tikka Express on Stapleton Road, but the vegan takeaway now has its own location on Gloucester Road. While Bristol has plenty of brilliant curry houses, this will be one of a kind.
As Bristol’s first plant-based Indian takeaway, it will offer a range of vegan dishes on opening. Tuck into everything from plant based chicken korma to meatless kofta chilli masala and vegan shrimp curry. All while still remaining authentic to Indian cuisine!
